My starting point can get lost by the end, especially when so many facts and links tempt me down other paths.

My keep in your heart point is that the power shift is well underway and we the people with our voces occupying public space, our money saved and spent where it benefits us and information in our grasp are transforming the economic and political landscape, go us!

The Buffalo Springfield For What It's Worth #OccupyWallStreet Edition reminds me we Boomers had the right tune but stopped too soon.

From early civilizations to current times the wealthiest have had military might at their beck and call.  Wars have been launched under the American flag for generations and for little more than global business opportunity,

It has worked perfectly for the small circle of friendsters who summon vast armies and claim by might what is left in the carnage.

It is best summed up  by America's most decorated Marine Corp. General Smedley Butler in 1935 expose War Is A Racket.

I spent 33 years and four months in active military service and during that period I spent most of my time as a high class thug for Big Business, for Wall Street and the bankers.

In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism.

I helped make Mexico and especially Tampico safe for American oil interests in 1914.

I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in.

I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefit of Wall Street.

I helped purify Nicaragua for the International Banking House of Brown Brothers in 1902–1912.

I brought light to the Dominican Republic for the American sugar interests in 1916.

I helped make Honduras right for the American fruit companies in 1903.

In China in 1927 I helped see to it that Standard Oil went on its way unmolested.

Looking back on it, I might have given Al Capone a few hints.

The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents

Indeed many of the same firms and their, off shore LLC prodegeny are WarProfiteers still.  The corporate person circle binds together the well heeled, Ivy League families, in a web that incorporates all their Bankster relatives in a little FED Family.

It is the dark heart that strangles a free economy with a private lending institution that serves in Congress to grow the Nation's debt to their bank and then lends to the overspending Congress, a tab for taxpayers with a healthy sum for interest.

What makes this time in the history of humankind so very different is our ability to communicate independently as the 99% who have been paying that tab for the Teflon Dons of Wall Street to have pipelines of overseas income flowing to their off shore accounts.

Now we have the tools to understand what criminal acts have occurred, not only in the financial system, but in a fresh view of history combines with financial incentives.  The use of force is the popular default action for those who take or hold power through corrupt and covert means.

We have a voice and we have a choice, every dollar we spend and every opportunity we make to spread the word of how to free us from this Corporate Tapeworm Economy that hides behind claims of Patriotiism, but shows its true colors when challenged.

Imagine the FED like a King with all the Dukes and Duchesses tending the fortunes collected in the other occupied areas.  It's closer to a working model than years of economics would let on, but don't take my word for it, see for yourself.

Big thanks go to OpESR talents that created a fabulous FED Wiki designed for the 99% who don't wanna learn economics, just what Wall Street Banksters make up the cartel that robs us, plus more for folks into grittier details.

What we are beginning to see is a planet growing smaller and the big fish are finding themselves in a very small pool.  It's not as if there's the old standby of disappearing information or people or sweeping events under the rug.  Nope, been there, done that for millennium.

Now, the whole world is watching, everywhere we can be connected, the Revoution is not televised it's WiFi with legions more hardwired.

Another huge game changer is the fact that the forces are now among the poor, mastly poor and over taxed by a mercenary mentality that has Reserves meant for "Homeland" emergencies doing double digit tours in Iraq & Afghanistan while their families eek by on food stamps, then returning to joblessness, homelessness, poverty or the spectre of its ravages all around them.

Not a decade ago most events could be localized enough by information gatekeepers that the majority could be swayed to consensus or seem so through the lens of Establishment media.  The Invasion of Iraq and years of War could possibly have been avoided had there been the vitality of information exchange there is now through the Internet.

How differently the conversation would have gone had the big rush to war happened today.  But it isn't happening now, what is perhaps a far costlier scenario is unfolding for the  that fancy themselves above the masses.  History has shown time and again that force can be used on civilians to keep order and recent events have demonstrated that some American police and politicians still believe it to be the case.

United States Marine Corps. Sgt. Shamar Thomas from Roosevelt, NY went toe to toe with the New York Police Department. An activist in the Occupy Wall Street movement, Thomas voiced his opinions of the NYPD police brutality that had and has been plaguing the #OWS movement.

Thomas comes from a long line of people who sacrifice for their country: Mother, Army Veteran (Iraq), Step father, Army, active duty (Afghanistan), Grand father, Air Force veteran (Vietnam), Great Grand Father Navy veteran (World War II).

To contact Sgt. Thomas directly: sgtshamarthomasusmc@yahoo.com

Bad guess, bad planning, bad break for the 1% who are scrambling to find a way to institute censorship without stifling the Internet revenues, because that is the only option once you come to the realization that our military and police and fire and reserves and veterans all got burned by Wall Street's Bankster Elite too.  The Occupy movements have had numerous examples of law enforcement and military stepping up to declare they will defend their fellow citizens against any threats.

OccupyOMC will support the movement. We will support demonstrators with organization, direction, supply and logistics, and leadership.

We aren't living in an era where political status conveys importance by default.  In America it is due in part to a public education system so cobbled that it imparts the collective wisdom of a fruit fly while the worlds best entertainment options beckon with endless pleasure at the tip of your finger.

At the tip of your fingers is also the power to make revolutionary change, don't fund senseless wars, don't give more money to those grown obscenely richer on the misfortunes of the people of the world.

November 5 is Bank Transfer Day, do it!

Every dollar is a vote for change or more of the same and that's a bottom line they can hear!

Great article, Pamela.

After decades of getting by with creating division and smearing anyone who have the courage to stand up, expose and fight corruption, the 1% went too far with their greed and united the 99%.

I saw an article citing numbers of transfers from banks to credit unions. It seems over the past month some 600,000 people have transferred to credit unions already since the BofA announcement of their debit card fee - more people than had joined credit unions in the year 2010.

It is happening, Pamela. Thank you for the article above. WOO HOO on getting video to work. Great synthesizing of the true nature of war/oil/Wall St.

Might I add that during Nam, LBJ stepped up the war because Lady Bird held oil interests in Tonkin Bay. And, the Standard Oil mentioned in your article is Chevron today.

Yaay, it's fantastic to see people move their money so it works for them, not gambling Banksters!!

Wow, that's a new one for me; thanks so much for adding it. Folks don't realize the old Rockefeller's Standard Oil had global reach by the 1920's and much of the world has some oil. But In all my digging the Lady Bird investment never popped up so you've got my curiosity piqued now!! :~)

It is all one basket of petro-dollars when all is said and done. I haven't found Lady Bird's oily fingerprints yet, but this is a fabulous, short history of US wars and the oil reserves that were won!

I am sorry I cannot give a link or anything. I will tell you that when Nixon invaded Cambodia, I was part of the student takeover of the UC Irvine Student Union. We had a teach-in at the sit-in and one of the UC Irvine history professors gave a lecture where the Lady Bird connection was discussed. It stuck with me all these years; but I did not have this particular professor for any of my classes; so, I really can't remember his name (I guess I remember his gender, LOL!).

I never questioned it because of the Texas Oil hegemony.

Not a bad rule of thumb that will probably bear out and don't apologize, oral history is priceless. Heck that was the way first account researching was back in the day! Now I'll know to remember too and perhaps others as well and it's perfectly perfect just for that, so glad it stuck. :~)
