It's a chance to get a foto-Friday post up at its proper day and to mark the distance the Occupy Movement has come since September 17.  They are in chronological order and the whole collection are at flicker and anyone is welcome to share.

Thanks to a combination of procrastination and terribly slow technical capability, now that I've picked enough photos to test the upload limit there will be no time to do more than let the images speak for themselves.

Also, there's a boatload of unread and unanswered comments floating elsewhere, oops I'm running behind, who'd a guessed that one.  With love for every pair of feet on the ground and every heart moved in support, go us!!!

The last picture isn't perfectly clear but the message is, ignore your rights and they do go away, thanks to all who have decided to stand up and more who join in Democracy every day, it is our country and our government, the people in office are Public Servants and we need to keep raising our voices until they remember who America belongs to, We the People, the 99% that have had enough Imperial Corporatism! Sweet dreams of Liberty! :~)

Normally not affected by traffic but honestly sad nobody's looking at this when it took so long to upload! :~)

Another great article, Pamela. Sorry for not commenting sooner. I'm just now catching up on the Foto-Friday posts.

No worries I'm the penultimate catcher upper and believe the adage, "better late than never" applies to everything in this day and age and just happy you got to here eventually. Timing isn't always everything!

Sometimes other news events are riveting people, so do not be too concerned if people do not flock immediately.

I love this photo-documentary of the Occupy NY event. And the last sign speaks volumes.

VERY GOOD, Pamela. And I sympathize on the slow uploads sometimes; ugh, time dawdles when you are waiting for stuff to upload. Reminds me of a cartoon in the early days of the internet. Guy is sitting by his computer monitor and there is a spider web from him to the PC. Cutline: That's why they call it the World Wide WEB.

It's worse now that I'm an empty nester and my computer doesn't have kiddies to do the tech maintenance, my everything is bogged down; I'm guessing cookies but clueless. Luckily holidays are coming and it's blackmail time, no home cooked food until somebody helps Mom clear up the computer, true story!

There is a free antivirus program out there called Avast. You can download it from CNET -- again for free. This might help some at correcting any problems. Often registry problems crop up over time and a scan helps fix them.

Of course blackmailing the kids is a good strategy too and I don't have a problem with that. Just remind them how many diapers you changed if withholding food doesn't work. Lay it on thick.

Lots of good images here. It is good to see some focus on the day-to-day life in the camp instead of only the contentious moments getting all of the attention.

Free Humanity...Lots of good images here. It is good to see some focus on the day-to-day life in the camp instead of only the contentious moments getting all of the attention.

It's nice that you noticed that, though I do have some shots of that type as well. For me they became my Liberty Park campers their first night and it's the ordinary part of life that means most to me still.

There's one pic with a fellow in a yellow rain poncho and on the ground you see huge plastic bags. That was a rainy Wednesday after days of rain and the bags are wet clothes to be washed.

I went with a laundry group to Battery Park City where a resident had offered we share their laundry room. We carried bags over to wash dry and fold and carried them back in the rain. It's those things that stick with me and the spirit of community, so I'm glad that's what you got. :~)

If you'd like a full tour of life at Liberty they're at Flicker are free for anybody to share if they'd like to! Occupy Wall Street From the Beginning, or as my daughter teases, Mom's campers growing up!

This is just perfect, Pamela Drew! I will clip this to a few Occupy groups but mainly to #OCCUPY NEWSVINE. There are a few of us who are outside corporate media as citizen journalists/occupiers who are giving us a look at exactly what interests you--the day to day life, the folks on the ground.

Please come take a look and join if you like it.

Say, Pamela -- Someone just wrote (on another website) that while Mayor Bloomberg has given away millions, he only gives this money to friends. Do you have any info or any impressions on that?

I'm super disappointed with Mayor B's treatment of OWS and deployment of NYPD in extreme show of force, but the comment it couldn't be farther from the truth from what I've seen in a decade of living here. There have been so many arts programs etc that can't fit in the City budget and he goes into his pocket out of love for NYC and it's cultural richness to make sure it's not lost for lack of money.

I'd say the comment is misinformed and comes from assumptions about how "rich folks spend" it seems unfair and unfounded and I'd challenge the person who wrote it to find a summary of his donation history to prove it.

Well here's a couple links to uncomplimentary articles about all that. Not disputing that some of his gifts have helped support arts projects that otherwise would not have gotten done. Just that some people are not convinced he does what he does from unselfish motives.

A summary of his donation history does not seem to be available. (Or if it is out there, please send me a link -- thanks.) According to http://www.observer.com/5659/bloombergs-charitable-donations

A spokesman for Thompson called the mayor’s remarks today “laughable” and said the list of charitable donations, as the mayor described them, has never been made public.

On some level we all operate from a selfish motive standpoint and support the causes we believe in. I've never actually seen a list, nor looked for one, just know socially from groups who have at various times talked about how if it weren't for the cash he's coughed up, to keep them afloat, they'd go under. :~)

Thanks, Pamela, for weighing in on this from the "worm's eye" view. I just wanted feedback from someone who lives in NYC.

Have you visited McSpocky's site? He posted that video of Makana singing an anthem for the Occupy movement -- it's at http://illuminate.newsvine.com/_news/2011/11/23/8967695-occupy-with-aloha-makana-at-the-apec-dinner-hawaii?affiliate=newsvine.com&threadId=3279101&commentId=60185117#c60185117

Pretty cool. He's gutsy. I was thinking all thru it, that this is a real Bob Dylan moment.

MinnieApolis...I just wanted feedback from someone who lives in NYC.

It's a big city with lots of views, but gotcha. A friend of mine said my comment sounded like I was rubbing elbows with Bloomberg's crowd, but for the record the social circles I'm referring to are a handful of shoestring operation arts groups thankful for the help, not the folks writing the checks lol!!

Haven't seen McSpocky's anthem yet will go now thanks, but my new favorite Dollar is a Vote!

Very good Pamela, I hope all this does something positive in the end, like sending a few Bankers to Jail for what they did.

This is what happens sometimes when you have a capitalist/profit-based economic system. The pendulum swings toward abuses of the system -- and we are just trying to make it swing back toward a fair shake for everyone. Let people make a fair profit, EVERYONE, not just the 1 percent on top.
